Critic is a product of Casting Stats LLC (formerly BlueQuincy LLC). Casting Stats LLC was previously registered as BlueQuincy LLC; this is the same legal entity.
When you use Critic, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, phone number (if you opt in to SMS notifications), profile photo, and the movies you add to your lists along with who recommended them to you.
We use your information to operate Critic — showing your movie lists, tracking sparks (attribution credits), sending you notifications about spark activity, and delivering movie recommendations from friends. If you enable SMS notifications, we use your phone number to send transactional text messages about sparks and recommendations.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. We use third-party services (Supabase for authentication, Resend for email, Twilio for SMS) solely to operate the app. Your movie lists and profile are visible to other Critic users.
If you opt in to SMS notifications, you will receive transactional SMS text messages from Critic, a product of Casting Stats LLC (formerly BlueQuincy LLC), about recommendations, sparks, and account activity. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by disabling SMS notifications in your profile settings.
SMS consent is optional, is not a condition of using Critic, and is separate from these privacy terms. Your mobile number, opt-in data, and consent status will not be shared with or sold to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase and Vercel infrastructure. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at support@joincritic.com.
